Why David Archuleta didn’t win American Idol.
I have a theory as to why the Boy Wonder didn’t win the singing competition. It is not that he didn’t have the talent, because no one can deny that the seventeen year old phenomenon was, and still is, an amazing singer given the right song.
What I realize last night while watching the reruns of Season 7 is that there was no progression. If you didn’t know the theme of the episode and just heard Archuleta’s singing you would have no idea what week it was. Yes it was consistent but he never got any better. His most acclaimed performance was Imagine and that came 14 weeks before the finale.
