This is actually my favorite version of the Dickens tale. I know it sounds corny but the acting is exquisite by the humans and who doesn’t love The Muppets? 

Michael Caine (whose performance is Oscar worthy) plays miserly Scrooge with Kermit as the long-suffering but ever-hopeful employee Bob Cratchit. Miss Piggy plays Cratchit’s wife and miniature pigs play their daughters with Robin the tadpole as the famous Tiny Tim )(a host of other Muppets round out the cast with the only other humans being Scrooge’s family and girlfriend.) 

The Great Gonzo takes over the story telling for Charles Dickens and is aided by Rizzo the rat and its upbeat nature makes it a family drama that adults and children alike can enjoy whereas the original story is a bit too somber for kids.
