DAVID ARCHULETA THE ALBUM
David Archuleta, the cuddly seventeen year old runner up on season seven’s American Idol, released his self titled debut CD this past week. Most of the critics have panned it but I don’t think it’s that bad. It’s a teenager’s album aimed at, presumably, people his own age and because of this it’s light and bubble gum pop kind of sweet.
The thing that needs to be remembered is he doesn’t even write his own music or, for that matter, creat his own image. Everything about his career has been created for him by adults who think they know what a guy his age is supposed to be.
Taking all that into account and grading on a curve, it’s quite good.
